Spreading the Joy of Chess

Me overlooking some students play chess at a school in NJ. My handy dandy instructional artwork in the background. Thanks to KCC for the sets!

Don, do you teach chess? Where? I teach Saturday PM at Hillside Public Library. The library asked the kenilworth CHess CLub for a volunteer last year.

Mostly beginners and near beginners. Elementary school age. Kids are great, a couple have good potential. They think I'm a genius, and I'll let them think that for awhile.

I just went in for the day to go over the rules and let them play against each other. I have done it at a couple schools where friends or relatives teach. The kids have fun, and so do I. If you ever need a hand at Hillside, let me know.
